چکیده
A major step in the numerical solution of electromagnetic scattering problems involves the computation of the convolution based reaction integrals. In this paper a procedure based on the analytical Fourier transform is introduced which allows us to calculate the convolution-based reaction integrals in the spectral domain without evaluating any convolution products directly. A numerical evaluation of the computational cost is presented to show the efficiency of the method when handling electrically large problems. key words: electromagnetic scattering, spectral domain, near field, numerical methods

Numerical solution of general nonlinear Fredholm-Volterra integral equations using Chebyshev approximation
A numerical method for solving nonlinear Fredholm-Volterra integral equations of general type is presented. This method is based on replacement of unknown function by truncated series of well known Chebyshev expansion of functions. The quadrature formulas which we use to calculate integral terms have been imated by Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). This is a grate advantage of this method which has...
متن کاملOn the accurate numerical evaluation of geodetic convolution integrals
In the numerical evaluation of geodetic convolution integrals, whether by quadrature or discrete/fast Fourier transform (D/FFT) techniques, the integration kernel is sometimes computed at the centre of the discretised grid cells. For singular kernels a common case in physical geodesy this approximation produces significant errors near the computation point, where the kernel changes rapidly acro...
متن کاملNumerical resolution of large deflections in cantilever beams by Bernstein spectral method and a convolution quadrature.
The mathematical modeling of the large deflections for the cantilever beams leads to a nonlinear differential equation with the mixed boundary conditions. Different numerical methods have been implemented by various authors for such problems. In this paper, two novel numerical techniques are investigated for the numerical simulation of the problem. The first is based on a spectral method utiliz...
متن کاملConvolution of hp - functions on locally refined grids
Usually, the fast evaluation of a convolution integral R R f(y)g(x−y)dy requires that the functions f, g have a simple structure based on an equidistant grid in order to apply the fast Fourier transform. Here we discuss the efficient performance of the convolution of hp-functions in certain locally refined grids. More precisely, the convolution result is projected into some given hp-space (Gale...
